Our Philosophy
We Believe in the
Power of Play
From Play to Words consultants believe in the power of play. We believe that enhancing your child's social and cognitive development through interactions in play is all important. During play, children develop language and motor skills. Opportunities to play also present opportunities to socialize and engage in problem solving.
We contract and/or employ Occupational Therapists who specialize in sensory processing, visual motor and fine motor development. We also contract Physiotherapy and Psychology support. We provide Therapy Assistant support as well as Respite support to families.
Dr. Jean Piaget, upon whose theories many of the foundations of Early Childhood Education have been built, said, "The young child is an explorer, and it is the job of the adults around her to provide the experiences and materials to stimulate her development." As a parent, you are the best candidate for channelling your child's play experiences in a way that is challenging and developmentally appropriate. As your speech-language pathology team, we present the information and expertise to best guide you as you shape your child's play into meaningful communication opportunities.
